Hidden in plain, a historic mansion towers over this 20th century enchanted garden. Once the estate slowly started deteriorating after the deaths of both Hugh Rodney Sharp & Isabella Mathieu du Pont, Preservation Delaware stepped in with the support of the community & Sharp family to rescue it. In between the ivy covered stone walls, the gardens is meticulously maintained & bursting with vibrant life. The walkways show off the grounds’ plants, breathtaking water garden & Lily Pond, antique Italian statues, & The Estates very own tea room. Open to the public year around, the gardens has 5 areas to be reserved for private events. Starting 2021, we will be the exclusive caterer & direct contact for coordination.
